- SAN FRANCISCO - Getfugu Inc. has today announced that the company has successfully met the development milestones for all of its search tools (ARL, VRL and GRL) in connection with its recently announced launch plan.
"I am very pleased to be able to announce the completion of this important phase. The application has stood up well in trials and we are looking forward to the next phase of the build out," stated CEO Bernie Stolar.
There are two pieces to the Getfugu platform: server and client code. Input is provided through the client, interpreted on the mobile handset and information sent back to the server. The server then performs a search and returns the appropriate response which opens within the Getfugu application.
"Even in the first phase of development, our platform performs better than every other mobile search product we tested both in terms of speed and accuracy," Stolar continued.
Getfugu has four services within its application:
1. See It (ARL): "Vision recognition" The Getfugu application recognizes logos and products through any mobile phone camera.
2. Say It (VRL): "Voice recognition" The consumer can simply speak into the phone to retrieve content.
3. Find It (GRL): "Location recognition" For local content, Getfugu is designed to work with the GPS systems of today's mobile phones. The application will return content, based on the proximity to the user.
4. Get it (Hotspotting): Getfugu provides advertisers with a way to monetize their marketing efforts through a mobile e-commerce tool called Hot-Spotting, which enables the consumer to purchase or retrieve information on any item featured in the video simply by simply touching it on the screen.
Additionally, Getfugu announced the appointment of Ivan Kozhuharov as VP Engineering.
Mr. Kozhuharov has been spearheading development of the mobile search tool and brings more than 15 years' experience in fields such as software architectures, parallel programming and project management. He has a substantial product management history and has created a complete range of products for the semiconductors industry, machine vision, mobile development and computational finance. Mr. Kozhuharov holds a MBA, Master's degree in Industrial Management and Post Master degree in Telecommunications, also, a MCSD, MCAD, MCP.
"This is an important milestone for us to reach. It marks the end of the technical design, prototype and initial build stages and enables us to begin porting the application to specific models of handsets. We have working versions of the application on several mobile platforms and all have passed very rigorous internal and beta testing," said Mr. Kozhuharov, VP Engineering for Getfugu.
